what_they_eat What they eat: Spotted Towhees eat both insects and plants depending on the season. They prefer sunflower seeds, peanut hearts, and millet on the ground or in platform feeders.
how_they_sound Where they live: These birds prefer the dry thickets and brushy tangles of scrub habitats. They occur in the western half of the United States into some parts of Canada and Mexico.
where_they_live Did you know? Spotted Towhees like to eat right off the ground and do so by using a backwards-scratching hop to uncover food.
did_you_know How they sound: Their song starts with a few short introductory notes and is followed by a fast trill that sounds like a piece of paper stuck into a fan.
