Before and After Photos of Our Gardens or Plants
We want to see your transformations! Please share a portion of your landscape that demonstrates change over time. This could be a change in one year, or multiple years.
Those of you who have been making changes for several years, include an early-stage photo along with how things look now.
For those who are newer, even just a perennial blooming in its first year is worth sharing!
We are always inspired to see how much impact we can have as our gardens develop and fill-in! Please share photos from approximately the same angle and spot.
This is a before (2025) and after picture (2025) from Nova Scotia shows how they added natives to their downspout.
This is a before (2025) and after picture (2025) from Arizona showcasing incredible changes in just one year. The homeowner said, "We added 21 native plants which has already attracted 15 insects species (8 of which are pollinators), a variety of reptiles and more than 20 new birds were seen enjoying the new landscape." This is a before (2025) and after picture (2025) from Georgia showcasing how pots on a patio can have an impact. They said, "This garden saw many insect visitors along with a robust lizard population. A family of Carolina Wrens raised four babies in plants on this balcony."

One lucky winner will win a FREE pair of Zeiss Terra 8x42 binoculars. Binoculars will be distributed after December 1, 2026. Binoculars valued at $499.

- I hereby grant to Cornell University on behalf of the Cornell Lab of Ornithology (“Cornell Lab”), a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, irrevocable and perpetual license, in all media (print, electronic, or other), to use, distribute, reproduce, modify, adapt, and publicly display any and all photos I submit through the Garden for Birds webpage(s) .
- I verify that the photos are my original work and do not infringe on the legal rights of any third party.
- I agree that I will hold the licensees harmless from any claims, actions, demands, liabilities, losses, damages, costs, or expenses of any kind (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from a breach of the foregoing warranties.
- I understand that I am solely responsible for protecting my copyright in the photos from infringement by a third party; the licensees are not responsible for pursuing such claims on my behalf.
- The licensees reserve the right to use/not use and/or dispose of the photos as deemed appropriate.
- I confirm that I am 18 years old or older and have read and understand the terms of this Agreement.
- I understand this license shall be interpreted by the laws of the State of New York, regardless of conflicts of laws principles.
