what_they_eat What they eat: These birds mostly eat insects, but at feeders they prefer peanuts, sunflower seeds, and mealworms. Tube, hopper, platform, and suet cage feeders will attract Chickadees.
how_they_sound Where they live: Chickadees live in forests, open woods, parks, cottonwood groves, and disturbed areas. They are found coast to coast in North America, including most of Canada and the northern two thirds of the United States.
where_they_live Did you know? The Black-Capped Chickadee hides seeds and other food to eat later, placing each item in a different spot and recalling over thousands of hiding places.
did_you_know How they sound: Chickadees make their chickadee-dee-dee call using increasing numbers of dee notes when they are alarmed.
