what_they_eat What they eat: These finches primarily eat buds, berries, and seeds. Attract them to your backyard with sunflower or nyjer at platform, tube, and hopper feeders.
how_they_sound Where they live: They reside in the forested mountains of western North America, from southern Canada down through the U.S. to northern Mexico.
where_they_live Did you know? Their red crown feathers are caused by eating colorful foods, like the orange berries of firethorn plants.
did_you_know How they sound: They sing a warbling, rollicking song that includes mimicked calls of other birds.
