Wild Birds Unlimited and the Cornell Lab of Ornithology are excited to present the 2025 BirdSpotter Photo Contest!
Simply fill out your information on the form below, and upload your photo (photo may have been taken at any time, at any location, but must be submitted by the deadline below).
Entries can be submitted no later than February 3, 2025. Please review the official contest rules before entering.
Ten finalist photos will be chosen by Cornell Lab and Wild Birds Unlimited staff and posted on the BirdSpotter Voting page, where bird lovers can vote for their favorite entries. Online voting begins February 21 and ends March 23, 2025. Winners will be announced shortly thereafter and will be contacted individually by the email provided below.
Prizes:
Wild Birds Unlimited and the Cornell Lab will award the following prizes, based on the voting results:
$300 Wild Birds Unlimited gift certificate (1st in votes received)
$200 Wild Birds Unlimited gift certificate (2nd in votes received)
$100 Wild Birds Unlimited gift certificate (3rd in votes received)
Each of the 10 selected photographers will be invited to choose one free Bird Academy online course
**This contest is open only to legal residents of the United States of America and the Canadian provinces and who are least eighteen (18) years of age at the time of entry. Person under eighteen (18) may participate with a guardian’s permission.
Effective as of the date of the last signature below, you agree to grant to Cornell University on behalf of the Cornell Lab of Ornithology (“Cornell Lab”) a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, irrevocable and perpetual license, in all media (print, electronic, or other), to use, distribute, reproduce, modify, adapt, sublicense and publicly display the audiovisual materials described in Exhibit A (the “Content”) for any purposes that further the research and educational mission of the Cornell Lab. These purposes may include (without limitation) display on Cornell Lab websites, promotional uses, and inclusion in Cornell Lab and/or Cornell University multimedia content and products. We will not sublicense the Content to any third party without your permission. Cornell Lab will make reasonable efforts to attribute you as the contributor of the Content, where feasible and appropriate.
You warrant that the Content is either owned by you, or in the public domain. You agree that you will hold Cornell Lab and Cornell University harmless from any claims of Content ownership or infringement by any other person or entity or from any other demands, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses of any kind arising from your breach of the foregoing warranties. You agree that you are solely responsible for protecting the Content from infringement by a third party; Cornell Lab is not responsible for pursuing such claims on your behalf.
Cornell Lab reserves the right to use/not use and/or dispose of the Content as deemed appropriate by Cornell Lab at its sole discretion. You represent that you are 18 years old or older and have read and understand the terms of this Agreement. This Agreement is the complete agreement between you and Cornell Lab and supersedes any prior agreements or understandings with regard to this subject matter. This Agreement shall be interpreted by the laws of the State of New York, regardless of conflicts of laws principles.
