From So Simple a Beginning by Ink Dwell Studio

Friend, have you had the chance to view the Wall of Birds? Officially titled From So Simple a Beginning, this mural is a one-of-a-kind celebration of birds. It features 270 species, representing all the living bird families and a ghostly parade of their extinct ancestors. Artist Jane Kim and her colleagues from Ink Dwell studio spent 17 months bringing this mural to life on the largest wall in the Cornell Lab’s Visitor Center. She painted each bird life-sized and in colorful detail!

You may not be able to come visit us in Ithaca, NY, but you can still explore Jane Kim's incredible three-story mural online. Enjoy the mural and appreciate Jane's fantastic work through high-resolution images, browse the basics of each of the bird families of the world, and learn more about some of the most impressive and outrageous birds on the planet.
