what_they_eat What they eat: House finches eat mostly plant materials, including seeds, buds, and fruits. At feeders, they prefer black oil sunflower. Tube, hopper, and platform feeders are the best choices for attracting these birds.
how_they_sound Where they live: Although they're most familiar to human-created habitats like buildings and lawns, House Finches also live in forest habitats. Their range has expanded over time and includes most of the U.S. and Mexico, as well as southern Canada.
where_they_live Did you know? House Finches are almost entirely vegans as adults, but they feed their young a few insects in addition to plant material.
did_you_know How they sound: Their call is a sharp cheep, and when they sing it sounds like a jumbled warbling.
