Mourning Dove

what_they_eat What they eat: Seeds make up 99% of this bird’s diet, and they especially like millet. Large hopper, platform, or ground feeders are best for attracting Mourning Doves.
how_they_sound Where they live: Primarily a bird of open country and woodland edges, the Mourning Dove can also be found near roads and backyards. It occurs in parts of southern Canada, all of the lower 48 states, and into temperate Mexico.
where_they_live Did you know? These birds can drink spring water that is almost half as salty as sea water without becoming dehydrated the way humans would. 
did_you_know How they sound: Mourning Doves sing a soft coo-oo followed by two or three louder coos, or a coo-OO-oo that is highest in the middle.
