what_they_eat What they eat: Northern Mockingbirds eat mainly insects in summer but switch to eating mostly fruit in fall and winter. They tend to visit platform and ground feeders in search of fruit or peanut hearts.
how_they_sound Where they live: Year-round the Northern Mockingbird is found in areas with open ground and shrubby vegetation like hedges, fruiting bushes, and thickets. They occur throughout the entire continental U.S and Mexico.
where_they_live Did you know? Northern Mockingbirds continue to add new sounds to their repertoires throughout their lives. A male may learn up to 200 different songs.
did_you_know How they sound: These birds tend to whistle a series different phrases, mimicking the sounds of birds (and frogs!) around them.
