What they eat: Northern Mockingbirds eat mainly insects in summer but switch to eating mostly fruit in fall and winter. They tend to visit platform and ground feeders in search of fruit or peanut hearts. |

Where they live: Year-round the Northern Mockingbird is found in areas with open ground and shrubby vegetation like hedges, fruiting bushes, and thickets. They occur throughout the entire continental U.S and Mexico. |

Did you know? Northern Mockingbirds continue to add new sounds to their repertoires throughout their lives. A male may learn up to 200 different songs. |
