what_they_eat What they eat: As their name suggests, Pine Siskins prefer to eat the seeds of pines and other conifers like cedars, hemlock, and spruce. They visit most kinds of feeders, searching for thistle, millet, or hulled sunflower seeds..
how_they_sound Where they live: Pine Siskins generally nest in open coniferous forests, but they also inhabit parks, cemeteries, and suburban woodlands. They are found across middle Canada into southeast Alaska and in parts of the west U.S.
where_they_live Did you know? Pine Siskins' winter movements are hard to predict, but they depend partly on the state of corn crops in North America.
did_you_know How they sound: This bird's most recognizable call is a harsh, upsweeping zreeeet in between shorter calls.
