what_they_eat What they eat: These birds eat mainly insects, but at feeders they will eat peanut hearts, millet, wheat, and milo. They’re most attracted to platform and ground feeders.
how_they_sound Where they live: These birds are found in tundras, alpine meadows, and forest edges. They occur in the western and southern portions of the continental U.S extending into Mexico, and breed in northern Canada and Alaska.
where_they_live Did you know? A young male White-crowned Sparrow learns the basics of the song it will sing for life during its first two or three months.
did_you_know How they sound: White-crowned Sparrows have about 10 different calls. The one most frequently heard is a sharp pink, lower-pitched than its usual whistling call.
